Q: What devices does Bringrr work with? What devices will the app be released for? Will my Bringrr work outside the U.S. with international phones and devices?
A: Bringrr can pair with any bluetooth enabled device to check if it's there or not. For your phone to search for BringTags and keep track of them in your car your device must be at least Bluetooth Smart Ready (Meaning it is Bluetooth Low Energy capable). We will be releasing the app on iOS, Android, and Google Glass. International - Same as everywhere else. To check if your device is Bluetooth Smart Ready you can go to Bluetooth's product catalog and search for your device
Q: How many BringTags can I use at once?
A: Up to 10 active BringTags can be tracked and remembered at a time, however you can have as many item profiles, and shared BringTags on your account as you can handle!
Q: Do I need to buy a Bringrr to use BringTags, or vise-versa?
A: Nope. You can use the Bringrr as is and it will still charge your devices, pair with your phone and alert you if it is missing. You will need to use the Bringrr App along with the BringTags, however the apps will all be free. Using Bringrr and BringTags together increases the functionality of both devices, and just makes everything easier.
Q: Does Bringrr come with a charging cable? Why Not?
A: Unfortunately, no. There are many reasons we decided not to, they mainly come down to quality and cost. Including Apple Thunderbolt cables, for example, would drive the price of the charger up significantly. The other problem is with the "universal micro-USB" cables. Although micro-USB cables can attach to nearly all devices, the output is different on all of them, meaning if you have an HTC phone and we include an LG cable, you could potentially see error messages on your device due to manufacturer software basically letting you know that they want you to buy their charger only.
Q: Can I use a hands-free device if my phone is paired to Bringrr?
A: Yep, Bringrr will work without interfering with the normal headset or hands-free operation.
Q: How do BringTags attach?
A: You can clip, or hook a BringTag onto anything that will fit in the BringTag Portal (the little hole in the tag). Each BringTag also comes with a two-sided adhesive pad that you can stick to the back of the tag, and virtually every other surface.
Q: If my Bringrr or Bringrr App updates the location of someone else's BringTag, will they be able to see my location?
A: No. You will not know when this happens, the other users BringTag location is sent discreetly and anonymously to our cloud servers. Then the Bringrr cloud servers send the BringTag location update to the owner, and none of your Bringrr account information or location will be shared with them. All that person will receive is a GPS location of their BringTag.
Q: Won't the Bluetooth connection between my Bringrr/BringTags and my phone drain the batteries?
A: Nope, BringTags (and all of our communications) use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is designed to consume very little power. Your phone battery will keep about the same amount of charge as your regular usage, and the BringTags are designed to last 1 year with regular use.
Q: What is the range of Bringrr's Bluetooth? What if I'm parked in my garage and any of my tagged items are in the other room, will Bringrr think it's in the car with me?
A: The Bluetooth range on Bringrr is set to about 15 feet. But, when the signal passes through your car doors and walls it becomes significantly less, so it is highly unlikely that Bringrr will think your tagged items are with you in the car when they are still in the house.
Q: Can other Bringrr App users search for my BringTags?
A: No. Unless you specifically give permission for another user to share one of your BringTags, no one else will be able to see your location, or any other data associated with your account.
